Things to Ask Yourself just before Choose a Stroller

5 Things to Ask Yourself just before Choose a Stroller

1. WHAT PERFORM SOME HANDLEBARS FEEL JUST LIKE?

You are going to have a great grip on these for some years at the very least, so be sure they feel nice in the hands. Most are plastic, some are foam, and some are leather (oh, you fancy huh?), and unless you are committed to making “stroller gloves” a thing, you should pick whichever one you would like best.

2. WILL THE FABRIC SHOW EVERY STAIN?

This really is more about colour than actual material, since most strollers are produced with similar washable fabrics. Of course, you are kidding yourself if you think you will clean that thing more often than once in a blue moon, so pick a fabric that may best camouflage spit up and ground-up goldfish crackers. Actually, camouflage would do well here. This is not an occasion to select white. We repeat. Usually do not under any circumstance buy a white stroller. Except if you’re Puff Daddy.

3. WILL BE THE TIRES AIR-FILLED? HOW COME I CARE?

Great question! Air filled tires give you a much smoother ride than plastic or rubber simply because they absorb all of the impact from bumps and cracks within the sidewalk. This means baby sleeps soundly and isn’t woken up every time you roll over a pebble. Believe us, you worry about that.

4. BASIC BLACK, OR BRIGHT AND COLORFUL?

We have already established that white isn’t an option, but let’s imagine that you aren’t worried about stains and are usually basing you colour choice solely by which one will match your wardrobe the greatest. Don’t behave like you haven’t already seriously considered this. Of course, black goes with everything, but so does ketchup and you also do not see us mixing that into our baby’s bottle. All we’re saying is, do not automatically default to black. If you found a stroller that fits every requirement on the list, and comes in a myriad of shades, take the time to give some thought to it. Plus, pushing something bright orange up a steep hill may indeed prevent you from drifting off to sleep during the wheel throughout the first few months.

5. DO I NEED A BASSINET?

If you want to keep your child car seat strapped to your car as frequently as you possibly can, then a bassinet is a no-brainer. It is cozy, warm, and doubles as a bed for day trips to see the grandparents. But if you plan on using your child car seat as your new third arm, then a bassinet may just become a bulky extra that uses up way too much room in your trunk.
